Best Hammocks for Your Home | Home Decor | Etsy Finds
I have loved Hammocks, and everything about them, for as long as I can remember. The way they look, the feeling of weightlessness, the way it feels to be gently swinging back and forth with the wind and the earth. Throughout the years, I’ve always sought them out on vacations – if a resort, hotel or AirBnB had one, you know it made it pretty high on my contender list. When we visited Xel-Há Park near Cancun, I thought I had died and gone to heaven when we stumbled across their hammock village. I mean, look at them all!
Now that we’re preparing to move into our first house, I finally have enough room to make sure there is at least one hammock at our humble abode. Casa Hope is 60 days away from completion, so I’m starting to let myself brainstorm and get excited with design plans for our backyard living space. With mountain views like I shared in this post, you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be spending time outside whenever I can.
I think I’ve narrowed down what type of hammock I’m looking for, but I’m notorious for changing my mind – so I thought I would share my favourite ones here for you today. It’s kind of perfect – I get to share my favourites with all of my fellow hammock lovers, which also serves as a backup in case I change my mind (insert monkey-covering-his-eyes face here lol!)
CLASSIC HAMMOCKS
There is one word for this hammock + nook and that is dreamy. I love absolutely everything about this two toned hammock annnnnd really just the whole set up in general.
MACRAME INSPIRED
This style is 100% my favourite style of hammock, but I’m at a bit of a impass since we live in an area that does get it’s fair share of rain and I would hate to leave these beauties outside. When it comes to fibre arts and boho style of decor inside the house – I really do have to pick my battles with my husband (can anyone else relate?!). I might just need to have to install one in my office/she-zone.
INTERIOR HAMMOCK CHAIRS
These guys look like the coziest, hygg-ist, absolutely best place to spend a winter afternoon reading a book. I mean, they are basically a cocoon of happiness, wouldn’t you say?
OUTDOOR HAMMOCK CHAIRS
While the hammock chairs above are definitely destined for drier (indoor) locations, these outdoor hammock chairs are the perfect way to add extra seating your backyard while still embracing the relaxing island feel. I’ve seen these installed near a campfire and they look so neat!
HAMMOCKS FOR KIDS
To be completely honest, I had no idea that this was a thing until a friend of mine mentioned it. Now that I know, how can you NOT love them? Obviously, I would not recommend them for younger children without supervision – but they are definitely super cute + fun!
CAMPING + PORTABLE HAMMOCKS
While not quite as cute as the woven hammocks, camping hammocks are a must pack for us every time we go jeeping or camping. They are light, easily packable and most importantly – incredibly easy to hang on two sturdy trees! While hammocks in the past required hooks that damaged trees, new ones use a great wrap + pully system that uses your weight to actually help the hammock stay stable. I knew that extra weight I put on over the winter would be good for something!
HAMMOCK ACCESSORIES
Every good hammock requires a good accessory. For most of us, that means a good book or a good beverage but there’s a few others that are super cute as well!
I think a big part about being drawn to hammocks has to do with the relaxation and reading that normally goes along with them. It’s also relatively difficult to work on a computer in them – which is really what I need. A deterrent from working when I’m supposed to be relaxing! Does anyone else tend to have that problem too?
Curious to see which one I decided on? I’m currently choosing between THIS ONE and THIS ONE. Drop a note in the comments to help me decide!
That’s all for my hammock favourites for now – if you’re a fellow hammock lover drop me a line below and share which is your favourite style!
xoxo,
Shan
